Halter Ranch has renovated its tasting room, winery facilities and wine making strategy. The winery grounds, buildings, patio, and Halter Ranch tasting room are renewed, but in keeping with the old ranch style stick architecture. The Halter Ranch wines are the bargain of the trip. Priced in the mid-$20, they are worth every penny. We’ve previously tweeted about their 2008 Côtes de Paso ($28), an outstanding Rhône varietal. Our notes say “cherries everywhere.” But the real bargain was their 2010 Rosé with a long pink grapefruit finish. A very ripe pink grapefruit. Halter Ranch rates as one of the true finds of this road trip.
